Big changes are coming to the iphone 13. there are some really exciting features coming to the iphone 13 and iphone 13 pro models this year and there is a lot to be very very happy about and many reasons why you want to pick up one of these new iphones but there are also some features that we thought were done deal that aren't happening this year after all surprise surprise in this video let's break down the 10 biggest rumors for the iphone 13 lineup and finally sort of determine once and for all what is coming to this year's iphone lineup and what will remain something we'll have to wait to see until next year and a big thanks to magic spoon for sponsoring this video is it just me or does it seem like we've been hearing news about the iphone 13 lineup for almost a year at this point like it seems like even before apple unveiled the iphone 12 and made those phones official we already started to hear rumblings and rumors about the iphone 13 what those phones would have and what they wouldn't have and it just seems like this rumor cycle has been going on for a very long time and believe it or not good news or bad news that is actually true i did a little digging and going as far back as the fall of 2020 is really where these rumors about the iphone 13 started to pick up the pace and yes before the iphone 12 was official and even when that phone was still rumored we already started to hear inklings about what apple was planning next with the iphone 13. and i thought it'd sort of be fun to sort of look back at those very early rumors about the iphone 13 and compare that information to what we know now so we can get a really good idea of exactly what is coming in just a couple of weeks at this point what will the iphone 13 have what won't it have and what features have we been sort of promised from the rumor mill that now don't seem like they're happening at all let's get into it a report from tech radar early last fall speculated that the iphone 13 lineup would come in the exact same sizes as the then unreleased and unofficial 

iphone 12 lineup so you'd have a mini pro pro and pro max and ding ding ding that rumor is still right on the money and that is still what we're expecting this fall we should have a 5.4 inch 13 mini a 6.1 inch iphone 13 6.1 inch 13 pro and a 6.7 inch 13 pro max so that's still all the same but a couple little caveats here first is that this should be the last mini iphone we get for quite some time if apple ever decides to do it again due to poor sales and maybe a lack of interest or a combination of that and other factors it looks like the iphone 13 will be the last mini flagship iphone that apple is planning to produce and sell so if you are in the market for a higher end mini phone specifically an iphone then pick up the 13 mini now when it comes this fall or wait to get it used but just know that that's probably gonna be the last mini iphone we see for quite some time also apple is expected to change up the sizes of the iphone 14 in the fall of 2022 so this will be the last year we sort of see this specific display size configuration and the next year things should change a little bit in the fall with those new upcoming iphones but again a little too early to get into iphone 14 stuff so let's keep it simple with iphone 13. the next rumor from this report speculates that the iphone 13 or maybe all models would get a pro motion display and this is partially untrue funny enough this report speculated the iphone 12 pro max would have promotion and that would be like an exclusive feature just for that phone and then this year kind of the following year all phones would get promotion unfortunately as we all know that is not the case and there were no promotion phones with the 12 but we should see them this year with the iphone 13. but according to recent rumors it looks like just the pro and models those with the ltpo display technology will have hertz pro motion capability so the 13 pro and pro max will have promotion but the regular 13 and 13 mini those will just be standard oled display so if you want the high refresh rate you're gonna have to go with the pro model not the case uh as tech radar thought last year so sorry to burst some bubbles here but just promotion on the higher end iphones and speaking of displays another rumor we had heard earlier this year from max weinbach speculated that the iphone 13 could get an always on display probably the pro miles with that ltpo display technology and this sounded honestly super exciting it didn't seem like apple was actually going to do it didn't really seem like it was in their wheelhouse but we had heard that apple could give us this ultra simple minimalistic always-on display similar to that of the apple watch that showed us stuff at a glance maybe a couple notifications your activity rings the weather stuff like that and this all seemed really exciting 

but we didn't know if it was actually going to happen but a recent report from mark german over at bloomberg suggests that this actually could happen because apple has the ltpo display technology that makes this happen because they're gonna do promotion displays it does make sense especially with all those ios 15 focus stuff they could give us an ultra simple always-on display that shows us just the info we need to see at a glance on our new iphone 13 pro and pro max models this report also claimed that the iphone 13 would get a new time of flight sensor built into the notch that could recognize gestures this is something we have heard nothing about so correct me if i'm wrong in the comments but this does not look to be happening at all i don't know where this rumor came from and also another rumor from this wonderful tech radar report not bashing them but this is just funny to see is that they claim that the iphone 13 series would be the first iphones to all get millimeter wave it was just a pro feature with the 12 and now this year apple would expand it across the lineup funny enough this actually happened last year all iphone 12 models had millimeter wave capability so this year millimeter wave capability on all phones is not anything new so just another funny thing to see and also another reason why you take every rumor especially the super early rumors with a major grain of salt moving on to another rumor this is an article from phone arena back in november of 2020 setting an analyst note from ming chi quo that said that the iphone 13 pro models will get an improved ultra wide lens with an f 1.8 aperture and better auto focusing capabilities and yes this is another example of a rumor still being correct at least as far as we know right now we aren't expecting any major hardware improvements to come to the iphone 13 series in terms of camera upgrades but this is one we are expecting to see on the 13 pro and pro max a little bit of a better ultra wide camera on those models we also heard that sensor shift stabilization something that was just in the 12 pro max is coming to the entire iphone 13 lineup this year we also heard some rumors from max weinbach earlier this year that we could see in astrophotography mode and maybe portrait mode video coming to the iphone 13 this year though this one still remains unconfirmed so we don't know if it's happening or not but maybe we could see it launch with presumably the pro models this fall another article comes from mashable here again setting ming chi quo in the belief that the iphone 13 will launch this september and not in october like last year in 2020. obviously 2020 was a year of many difficulties and problems and the iphone 12 was delayed probably because of a lot of those issues but this year it seems like everything is pointing to a september launch of the iphone 13. obviously as much as i wish as i had like some magic futuristic orb what are those called crystal ball to look into the future and see what apple's planning to do i don't have that all i have is well do the iphone 13 so that's something but all signs do point to an iphone 13 launch this september so this should be coming sooner than later this year hopefully in just a couple of weeks now one little tidbit of iphone 13 news that sent shock waves through the iphone community was from a report from ming chi quo back in 2019 that suggested that apple could ship an iphone in 2021 that had no port the portless iphone was finally becoming reality and it was unclear if this was just one iphone 13 model or just the pros or all iphone 13 models but there was some rumors the iphone 13 could launch with no port on the bottom which was good and bad for many different reasons it was kind of simple it was nice it was very apple like just to have no cables no clutter just throw this thing on a safe charger and be done and be able to wirelessly charge your phone but also there are some practical issues like no way to diagnose issues on the phone no way to do wired carplay a number of reasons why you want to plug in a phone physically with a cable that you just couldn't do if there was a portless iphone unless apple did some wizardry with the magsafe technology built inside but uh good news or bad news depending on where you stand on this issue it looks like apple is not going to move forward with removing the port on the iphone at least not this year according to subsequent reports from ming chi kuo and mark irwin over at bloomberg apple did mull over the idea of removing the porch on the iphone 13 but they are not going to move forward with that this year at least according to the rumors and according to also our 13 dummy models which are very accurate in almost every way the porch is still there on the bottom so rest assured this year on the iphone 13 all your 13 models any phone you pick up will have a lightning port on the bottom of those phones so be happy about it now uh would have been nice if apple would have sort of adopted usbc like they've done on the macbook pros and the ipad models and even what they're supposed to do on the rumored ipad mini redesign but for many reasons apple is sticking with lightning on the iphone so good news lightning will remain for one more year bad news i can't make any predictions or say it's going to be the case next sources ming chi quo wall street journal barclays other major sources and publications that apple was testing at least one model of the iphone 13 that had an under display touch id sensor built in so the iphone 13 would have both face id and touch id and this made so much sense and made many people including myself very very happy and very excited about what apple could do with this technology we've seen it in other flagship android phones for years now we knew and heard that apple was working on this technology and to see them finally release it to the iphone especially given the pandemic would have been a really nice thing to see and many people were very very excited for this to finally come to the iphone 13 lineup but after many many months of speculation and rumors and a lot of hype it's looking less and less likely like it's actually going to happen i'm not going to count it out you know entirely but according to mark german over bloomberg was a pretty accurate track record it looks like apple was testing the technology but decided not to implement it this year with the iphone 13 so there will not be rumor has it touch id built in under the display on the iphone 13. moving on to some slightly better news we did hear some rumors from ice universe back in the fall of 2020 that apple was going to be giving us a slightly smaller notch on all iphone 13 models and as we get closer and closer to the launch this looks to be pretty much a hundred percent correct even this sketch and all it seems to be very accurate to what we are expecting to see with the iphone 13 this fall we heard that apple has been able to sort of shrink some of the face id components to be a little bit smaller move some things around and we're going to get a slightly smaller notch on the iphone 13 this fall all models of the iphone 3 not just a pro feature as well which is super cool to see we heard that apple is also expected to shrink the notch even more next year with the iphone 14 possibly going with a hole punch design the notch looks to be getting smaller and smaller and smaller as the years progress at least after this year we haven't seen any substantial change to it at all since 2017 so hopefully this is the year gets a little bit smaller on the new iphone 13. and rounding out the list of some other iphone 13 rumors it also seemed like just about a done deal at this point uh iphone 13 all models will get the a15 bionic processor more powerful more efficient it's going to be awesome to see physically larger batteries are expected for all models as well so better battery life across the board even better improve 5g support wi-fi 6e support as well and also on the pro models apple could launch this long rumored bronze orangey color maybe called sunset gold on the pro models of the iphone this fall looks really nice i don't know if it's exactly my style but as you can probably tell i don't have much of a taste in design so who knows it looks super nice and i'm really excited to see what exclusive color comes to the pro models this fall we had midnight green we had specific blue so sunset gold sort of fits the theme and could look really really nice and those are some of the biggest changes coming to the iphone 13 models this year.
